In an effort to engage the community and provide a convenient way to provide input, a new webpage for residents to provide comments about the staggering of districts for the 2026 election was announced during Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The City moved to district-based voting in 2022.

The City Council on Tuesday, May 13 will consider awarding a contract for an additional safety measure at a busy intersection as well as discuss a plan for the next budget cycle.

Comments on Staggering of Districts for 2026 Election will be posted on the website by 5:00 pm each Friday.

The City moved to district-based voting in 2022. At that election all five districts were for four-year terms. We now need to determine the staggering of the districts for the 2026 election. What this means is that we need to determine which three districts and which two districts will be either two-year, or four-year terms.
The City Council on Tuesday approved the plans for the Mission Viejo Wildfire Fuel Reduction Project and received an update on the LOS OSOS project, among other business.
