Artists sought for exhibit celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month

Art of well being

The City of Mission Viejo is seeking artists for an exhibit celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month this May.

"The Art of Well-being" exhibit will comprise works from five to six artists showing between three and five pieces each. The exhibit will run from March 22 through May 31 at the Potocki Center for the Arts, 27301 La Paz Road.

This call for art is open to local artists 16 and older who produce two-dimensional work in any type of media. Artists will be selected based on artistic merit and relevance to the exhibit's theme and selected by the City’s Cultural Arts Committee. Artists chosen to participate will be contacted by February 10.

According to research, the arts have a positive impact on mental health, and this exhibit is designed to invite conversation and encourage viewers to prioritize their own sense of well-being during Mental Health Awareness Month.

Submit your application online by Monday, February 3. For more information, contact arts@cityofmissionviejo.org.
