Council to consider agreement with Pacific Symphony and recognize outstanding individuals July 8

The City Council on Tuesday, July 8 will consider approving an agreement with Pacific Symphony for performances during the new fiscal year as well as recognize some outstanding individuals and an organization. 

The business portion of the meeting starts at 6 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. 

Council Members will consider approving a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pacific Symphony for performances during the new fiscal year including the annual Symphony in the Cities concert; Jeronimo Tunnel event; a sensory concert as a part of the MV ABLE program; and Symphony-on-the-Go performance.

During the presentation portion of the meeting, the Council will host its quarterly recognition of the Marines from the City’s adopted Headquarters Battalion of the First Marine Division and present certificates of commendation to the “Marine of the Quarter" Corporal Jose GonzalezMorales; "Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter" Corporal Jalen Coston; and “Junior Sailor of the Quarter” HM2 (FMF) Justin Harris.

The Council will also proclaim mid-summer through early autumn as Wildfire Awareness and Prevention Season, and Orange County Fire Authority Division Chief Cheyne Maule will speak about the critical need for residents to be prepared. 

In the final presentation of the night, the Council will recognize the 50th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Mission Viejo.

As part of its annual summer hiatus, the Mission Viejo City Council will resume business meetings on August 26. Per Council Policy 0400-9 adopted in 1994, regularly scheduled City Council meetings are canceled each year from July 15 through August 15 as well as on the second Council meeting in December.
