Council recognized outstanding Sheriff’s civilian employee, top local golf course

Lisa LeBron-Flores

The City Council on Tuesday recognized an outstanding member of Mission Viejo Police Services as well as a local golf course for winning a top award.

During the presentation portion of the evening, Council Members celebrated Lisa LeBron-Flores for receiving the “OCSD Sheriff 2024 Civilian Employee of the Year” award from the County of Orange.

The Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club was recognized for receiving the “2024 Golf Course of the Year” award from the California Golf Course Owners Association.

In other business, following the Council’s budget workshop held earlier this month, Council Members unanimously approved Mission Viejo’s FY 2025-27 budget. The budget, which is balanced, is a $197.1 million bundle of services, programs and projects for the benefit of Mission Viejo residents and businesses and provides for essential service levels and programs with $18 million in funding included for capital improvements.

The City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are streamed live on the City's website and air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City's eNewsletter and follow the City's official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
