New adventure park proposed for Freeway Center

american ninja adventure park

The Planning and Transportation Commission on October 9 will consider a new adventure park for the Mission Viejo Freeway Center at 25362 El Paseo.

The meeting starts at 6:30 pm in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

The City received an application from Joe Ryan on behalf of Mission Viejo Investment Group, LLC. to establish a new entertainment center for American Ninja Warrior Adventure Park. The applicant is also requesting a change in the type and quantity of permitted wall signs. According to the applicant, the park was inspired by the popular “American Ninja Warrior” TV show to start adventure parks across the United States.  The proposed adventure park will include obstacles such as monkey swings, spider walls, tilting logs, floating bridges and a warped wall.

With 18 parks in operation, the Ninja Adventure park is popular in the United Kingdom. Now, through an exclusive license with NBC Universal, the idea is to bring the new adventure parks to the United States and open 100 adventure parks in the next five years. The proposed Mission Viejo adventure park will include food and beverage service as well as a merchandise store and space for parties and special events. The facility could accommodate up to 350 people. The applicant estimates the park would generate roughly $150,000 in City revenue based on sales tax from merchandise and food and beverage sales.

Wow... this is almost the exact same concept as SkyZone Trampoline park which is in the same parking lot around 300 feet away. This seems really irresponsible of the landlord to place something so unique and competitive so close. This would severely hurt that other business.

Great idea. It’s no secret that we all, and particularly our youth, greatly benefit from physical activity. The more options we have the better! Seems like a win win.

Ninja Warrior is amazing! Our friends had a party there in June for their 7 yo. It is NOTHING like Skyzone. Not even close. There is zero reason the two couldn’t be side by side. Sky Zone is trampolines and Nonja Warrior is literally an obstacle course. Of course I assume the city council to be intelligent enough to read the difference between the two attractions. There are like 6 trampoline places in and around Mission but nothing like Ninja Warrior.
