Foster Care Program

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center offers a Foster Care Program for local residents to provide temporary homes for shelter animals until they are ready for adoption. Foster families play a crucial role in caring for animals in need, including bottle-fed kittens or puppies, pregnant cats or dogs, and pets recovering from surgery.

As a foster parent, you’ll be responsible for feeding, cleaning, and socializing your four-legged foster companions. Additional duties may include providing progress reports, bringing pets to veterinary exams, and administering medication if needed. Our shelter provides all necessary supplies and medical care—all you need to offer is a loving environment and a dedicated space in your home.

Foster families must live nearby in case of emergencies and have a spare room for their foster pets. Open your heart and home to an animal in need—become a foster today!
